Korhan Kurdoğlu: The Türkiye-China economic partnership is not just about trade, but a shared vision for development

Korhan Kurdoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Ata Holding, participated in the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) held in Beijing, the capital of China, between July 16–20, 2025. At this expo, which has become one of the most important platforms shaping global economic cooperation, trust-based investments, and sustainable supply strategies, Kurdoğlu highlighted Türkiye’s strategic position in the supply chain and explored multilateral cooperation opportunities with leading global business representatives.

The 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) was held in Beijing. As one of the institutional supporters of the fair, Korhan Kurdoğlu once again demonstrated his commitment to Türkiye-China relations by attending this year’s event.

Kurdoğlu Met with Nvidia CEO to Discuss High-Tech Investments

At a special gala dinner held before the expo, Kurdoğlu met with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. During the meeting, Kurdoğlu shared the advantages Türkiye offers in high-tech and chip production. He emphasized Türkiye’s developing infrastructure for chip design and manufacturing, government-backed incentive packages, skilled workforce, and easy access to European and Middle Eastern markets, which together create an attractive investment environment for global firms like Nvidia. Kurdoğlu also highlighted Türkiye’s favorable conditions for direct investment in strategic sectors such as data centers and CPU manufacturing.

Participation in the Opening Ceremony and Visit to ATA Bridge China Office

On July 16, Kurdoğlu attended the official opening ceremony, where Politburo Member of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier He Lifeng delivered the keynote speech. He then visited the pavilion introducing the newly established ATA Bridge China office. There, he met with ATA Bridge executives to discuss Türkiye-China cooperation opportunities.

Accompanied by Atakan Özdemir, Chief Commercial Counselor of the Turkish Ministry of Trade in Beijing, Kurdoğlu toured the ATA Bridge exhibition booth.

Kurdoğlu Shared Global Supply Chain Vision at CCPIT Business Forum

On July 16, Kurdoğlu attended the official opening ceremony, where Politburo Member of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier He Lifeng delivered the keynote speech. He then visited the pavilion introducing the newly established ATA Bridge China office. There, he met with ATA Bridge executives to discuss Türkiye-China cooperation opportunities.

During the CCPIT Business Forum held within the scope of the expo, Kurdoğlu delivered a speech in the session titled “Enhancing Connectivity for Stable and Smooth Industrial and Supply Chains.” The forum served as a high-level platform where key ideas on strengthening global economic integration were shared.

Notable participants in the session included Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT); Gao Yunlong, Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC); Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO); Sergey Tsivilyov, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation; and Liu Jun, President of ICBC Bank. Their participation underscored the meeting’s importance for multilateral cooperation and regional integration.

In his speech, Kurdoğlu emphasized the following points:

  • Türkiye’s vision for logistics and connectivity in Eurasia, including progress on multimodal infrastructure, regional trade agreements, and customs modernization.
  • The contributions of DEİK’s activities in China and the ATA Bridge platform to supply chain harmonization, digital solutions, legal support, and joint production processes.
  • He presented three concrete policy proposals:
    1. Establishing an Industrial and Supply Chain Dialogue Mechanism,
    2. Ensuring digital alignment in customs and e-document processes,
    3. Forming a private sector working group for green logistics and the circular economy.

At the end of his speech, Kurdoğlu stated: “In a time of increasing fragmentation, building resilient, inclusive, and eco-friendly supply chains is no longer a technical option—it is a strategic necessity. I hope the business communities in Türkiye, China, and other countries will lead this shared vision.”

Strategic Meeting with the Ministry of Commerce of China

During the expo week, Kurdoğlu held a comprehensive meeting with officials from the Investment Promotion Bureau and the Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Commerce. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director Tang Song.

Kurdoğlu shared information on Türkiye’s investment environment and recent structural reforms, drawing particular attention to the incentive mechanisms offered in strategic sectors for Chinese investors. Tang Song provided insight into the Ministry of Commerce’s policies on facilitating outbound investments and strengthening sustainable cooperation with strategic partners like Türkiye.

The meeting also included concrete exchanges on institutionalizing Türkiye-China investment dialogue, promoting sectoral knowledge-sharing, and organizing future joint investment workshops. This dialogue contributed not only to private-sector collaboration but also to strengthening public diplomacy cooperation.

Kurdoğlu Gave Interview to Chinese Media

In an interview with Chinese media during CISCE, Kurdoğlu commented on Türkiye-China economic relations: “As China reconstructs global supply chains, Türkiye stands out as a natural partner thanks to its geographical advantage, production capacity, and logistics infrastructure. This alignment represents not only commercial cooperation but also intellectual and strategic partnership.”

Kurdoğlu gave interviews to CGTN, CCTV, Anhui TV, and Business TV.

ATA Bridge: A Visionary Economic Bridge Between Türkiye and China

Kurdoğlu stated, “ATA Bridge is not merely a company—it represents the mutual understanding, trust, and strategic partnership vision between Türkiye and China. Our participation in CISCE this year as an official exhibitor marks a new step in realizing this vision.”

Founded with the goal of enhancing Türkiye-China strategic cooperation, ATA Bridge is a Türkiye-based trade and service platform focused on the Chinese market. Kurdoğlu noted that following the establishment of the company’s Türkiye operations, its China office officially began operating in Shanghai in 2025.

Kurdoğlu Met with CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin

Kurdoğlu also met with Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). During the meeting, both sides emphasized the strategic importance of ongoing cooperation between DEİK and CCPIT for the business communities of both countries.

Kurdoğlu stressed that such engagements contribute not only institutionally but also structurally to the development of sustainable, balanced, and long-term trade relations between Türkiye and China.

Both parties agreed that recent joint forums, investment seminars, and expo participation have increased mutual trust between business circles in both countries, laid the groundwork for tangible investment projects, and reinforced supply chain resilience. The visionary leadership of CCPIT under Ren Hongbin and DEİK’s institutional coordination power make it possible for Türkiye-China trade diplomacy to develop in a more inclusive and healthy manner.

As part of the international engagements during the expo, Kurdoğlu met with Paul Mashatile, Vice President of the Republic of South Africa. They discussed ATP, the technology subsidiary of Ata Holding, its current operations in South Africa, and its vision for expanding cooperation in the region.

Kurdoğlu highlighted ATP’s capabilities in financial technologies, digital infrastructure systems, and AI-powered solutions, noting that the company’s projects in China and other markets stand out in areas such as data security and operational efficiency. Vice President Mashatile expressed his appreciation for the technological competence of Turkish firms and stated that he welcomed increased cooperation between South Africa and Türkiye in digital infrastructure and innovation.

Türkiye-China Business Conference (TCBC): A New Platform for Strategic Dialogue

Another important leg of Kurdoğlu’s diplomatic and economic efforts is the Türkiye-China Business Conference, to be held this year in Istanbul. Initiated under his thought leadership, the TCBC has attracted increasing attention from the business world each year.

This year’s conference will be organized in collaboration with DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye), CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade), and TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry and Business Association).

“This conference is not just an event—it is a vision study for the future that Türkiye and China will shape together. I invite the entire business community to join this inspiring gathering,” said Kurdoğlu, emphasizing that TCBC represents a new model of multilateral economic diplomacy.
